Honours Degree

BEd(Hons) (Religious and Values Education)

R3,000 per module.  R4,000 for research project module (Honc411)


BTh(Hons)

BA(Hons) in Peace Studies
R 4 500.00 per module
R 6 750.00 for research project module


Study material
The cost of the study material varies from module to module but will generally be between R100 and R800, depending on the number of pages.  This amount covers the photocopying and copyright fees.

Masters Degree

Standard MPhil curriculum

If a student wishes to pay per module the fees will be R5 000 per module.  Minimum payable before starting classes is R5 000 per module payable before the start of the module.

The tuition fee for the Research Paper is R6 350 and for the Research Methods Workshop it is R2 750.

The continuation fee for the Research Paper is R2 000 a quarter (every three months).
 

Special MPhil curriculum

R5 000 per module.

The fee for the Research Paper is R7 500

The fee for the Research Paper must be paid at or before the start of the Research Paper.
A continuation fee for the Research Paper of R2 000 a quarter (every three months) will be charged only after the minimum period of study has expired (i.e. after 29 months - calculated as 26 months plus three months’ grace) from the date of first registration for the degree in the case of a part-time student.

In the case of a full-time student the continuation fee of R2 000 a quarter (every three months) will be charged after the minimum period of study (i.e. after 15 months - calculated as 13 months plus two months’ grace) from the date of first registration for the degree.


MPhil by research only

R7 500 per annum (part-time) and R15 000 per annum (full-time).

A minimum fee of R4 500 or R9 000 is payable on or before registration and the remainder within 3 months.


Non-Degree Purposes (NDP)

Non-Degree Purposes (NDP) means attending the classes and doing the assignments and the examination, but not doing the module towards a degree.

R5 000 per module payable on registration (i.e. before starting the module).

NB: If a person wants to do a module in this way, then he or she should register for it at least four weeks before commencement of the module.


Attendance Only (AO)
If a person wishes only to attend an MPhil module (i.e. to sit in on the classes but not to complete any assignments or examinations), the fee is R2 200 per module payable on registration (i.e. before starting the module).

Registration should be completed four weeks before the start of the module.

Doctoral Degree Degree of Doctor of Philosophy

R7 500 per annum (part-time) or R15 000 per annum (full-time)

A minimum of R4 500 must be paid before or on registration and the remainder within three months.


International student fee

If you are not a South African citizen or do not have permanent residence status, you are required to pay:

  • All countries excluding Africa
    A registration fee of R3 600 per annum for international students from any country other than one in Africa.
  • African countries
    A registration fee of R925 per annum for international students from any country in Africa.


Bursaries and financial assistance

When funds are available the College is able to offer a limited number of bursaries or financial assistance to students who are registered for a degree. A separate application form must be completed for this once a candidate has been admitted for a degree.
