WHEN FIRST REGISTERED
Vongani is a hardworking, passionate person who does not give up that easily – even though she matriculated in 2011, in 2012 she went on to upgrade her matric and then went to study Civil Engineering. However, she could not complete her studies due to ill-health, and had to stay at home for the whole of 2014. In 2015 she went to Rhodes University to study for her BA, majoring in psychology and sociology. Unfortunately, due to lack of funds she could not complete this degree.
She is very enthusiastic about continuing her studies at the College, with the help of a bursary, as she already has credits in psychology. Vongani loves animals and her family is very important to her. Since being at the Colelge she has come to appreciate reading novels, more.
WHY ARE YOU PURSUING STUDY AT ST AUGUSTINE COLLEGE?
Vongani heard about the College on Radio Veritas and also saw adverts in the Southern Cross newspaper which piqued her interest. She especially liked “the ethical leadership aspect and the holistic enrichment of knowledge that the College offers.”
WHAT HAS YOUR EXPERIENCE AT ST AUGUSTINE COLLEGE MEANT FOR YOU?
Vongani is so determined to succeed at the College that she has to take two busses to get here so she wakes up early, goes home late and studies to the point where it has taken over her social life.
WHAT ARE YOUR CAREER AMBITIONS
Vongani would like to become an organisational psychologist or a clinical psychologist. A BA with economics will open doors for her if she chooses organisational psychology.
