12 two-and-a-half-hour sessions, every 3rd Saturday, from January to December
R1 800 (if paid in two tranches: mid-January & mid-June) /// R250.00 per individual session (if not attending the entire course)
The Ecumenical Preaching Course is the fruit of an ongoing collaboration between the Theology Department at St Augustine College (Roman Catholic) and a number of other Christian church leaders, preachers and academics, including Anglicans, Presbyterians, Methodists, Baptists, Dutch-Reformed, Pentecostals, Charismatics and those representing African Initiated Churches.
The course has been designed in such a way that it brings together the riches of our different denominational traditions in the service of both current and future preachers. An ecumenical team of instructors will facilitate the once a month sessions, each of which will consist of a more theoretical introduction and a longer interactive part during which preaching skills will be practised under the supervision of a qualified tutor. Every month participants will be provided with necessary learning materials specific to the focus of a given session. Throughout the course, each participant will have an opportunity to present at least one sermon, on a prescribed topic, and receive feedback from the instructor and the group. Each session has its own focus, and can thus be taken on its own. However, participants are strongly encouraged to register for the entire course (12 sessions), as it has been designed as a comprehensive training covering all essential aspects of the art of preaching.
Please deposit the amount into the St Augustine Bank Account. Kindly reference your deposit with your SURNAME and the name of the Course (eg. Ecumenical Course). Please email your deposit slip to: firstname.lastname@example.org
